Once upon a time there was a kind yellow caterpillar. His name was Prince Alexander Von Hildenhitte the XVIII. He came from a long line of very rich, very beautiful, very conceited, butterflies and he had a hard time trying to fit into his family. His Aunt, Lady Marmalade, would tried to tape painted leaves to his back so he wouldn't look so bad and embarrass them when the family went out during the day. The leaves were very large and made it hard for Prince Alex to walk with, embarrassing his family even more when his tripped and stumble over the pretend wings. His uncle, Bob Duke of Pansy, would yell at him to keep up and make Prince Alex feel very bad. His father and mother, King and Queen of Bubbles, tried their hardest to hide the fact that their son, the future King of Bubbles, had not yet gone through metamorphosis. He was already a year old and still did not have his wings.
One day when his Aunt was in the middle of taping leaves on his back he happened to look out the window of his tower room of the castle and see another yellow caterpillar walking beneath a flower. She looked back at him and he quickly looked away, turning a slight shade of orange. Why did she not have any wings? He didn't have time to go find her and ask now because he had to go.
After a long day of being yelled at by his uncle and having to endure the awkward stares, Sir Alex was very tired. He was laying in bed when he remembered the pretty caterpillar that he had seen earlier. He figured that she was probably a servant and that she would be in the servants quarters with the other servants. He quietly got out of bed and tip-toed across his bedroom floor. His parents were very strict about bedtime.

To be continued...
